Meet BOS Community Coordinator, Madison Trace

Where do you consider your hometown?

I was born in Nanjing, China, but adopted and raised in the United States. I’ve lived in a couple different states while growing up, but I consider Bowling Green, OH as my hometown.

How long have you been in Ypsi?

I came to Ypsilanti in 2014 to start school as an undergraduate at Eastern Michigan University. I have bounced back and forth from Michigan and Ohio since, but it’s crazy to think it’s almost been 5 years since I first came here.

What do you like about Ypsi?

One of my favorite things about Ypsi is there are so many hardworking and passionate people here. I think the city does a great job of building a community that supports them, and people can grow a lot here.

What passion are you pursuing at The BOS?

I was recently brought on as the Community Coordinator at The BOS. As someone who really loves engaging others and fostering a welcoming space, I am so excited to be part of the team. I hope to continue building our community and find ways to meaningfully give back to Ypsilanti as a whole.

What's a fun BOS story?

I think my favorite BOS moment was being able to attend the Grand Opening. It was great to see how many people came out to support everyone on the team. Everyone was so happy to be there and celebrate the new beginning. The food, music, and conversation were also great!

Is there a place you’d like to travel to?

There are so many different places I’d love to see! I think one place near the top of my list is New Zealand. Some natural sites there are absolutely gorgeous, and I’d love to visit them in person one day.
