Meet Wayne Millette, Co-Owner of The Back Office Studio

Where do you consider your hometown?

I moved to Ann Arbor in 1996 and never left. It has been the longest city I have ever lived in. So, in all fairness…Ann Arbor has become my adopted hometown. However, my real hometown, is Grenada, a small southern Caribbean Island.

How long have you been in Ypsi?

I have been associated with Ypsilanti since 1998 as one of the founder/principal of New Beginnings Academy (Charter School). We (Sensei Change Associates) were the first tenant of Spark East. We left Spark East to move into our completely renovated…The Back Office Studio.

What do you like about Ypsi?

Ypsi is “Real”. It is a city that has a place and space for everyone.

What passion are you pursuing at The BOS?

As one of the owners of the BOS, we are looking to develop a strong community of entrepreneurs that will graduate from the space and choose to continue their business in downtown Ypsilanti. I am passionate about assisting other small business owners to maximize their capacities.

Have you ever been told you look like someone famous, who was it?

For many years I have been told I look like Eddie Murphy.

What is your favorite movie, music, or food?

I Love Seafood. Chinese and Cajun would be close seconds.

Is there anywhere you would like to travel?

I love international travel. I hope to travel to Australia soon.
