Meet BOS member, Darrell Robinson | Digital Media Strategist
Where do you consider your hometown?
I’m was born, raised and educated in Jackson, Mississippi. Shoutout to the home team, my beloved Jackson State University Tigers.
How long have you been in Ypsi?
I started exploring Ypsi in November and made the decision to work here in December. It’s been an amazing ride so far!
What do you like about Ypsi?
Ypsi is a beautiful place. It has an amazing culture. You meet so many different people here: students, entrepreneurs, professors, public figures. It feels like a tight-knit community where anyone can grow and be great. It reminds me a lot of Jackson.
What passion are you pursuing at The BOS?
I made a decision to go into full-time entrepreneurship in August 2018. The BOS is the continuation of this journey; it’s a chapter in a sense. While at BOS, I’m working to build brand recognition, connect with the A2Y professional community and attract new clientele for my company.
What's a fun BOS story?
So there’s this thing where, everyday, when I try to get coffee, the pot seems to be empty. It’s become a daily ritual for me. I guess I should come to the office earlier. Thank God for John Newman having my back. He always makes more.
Have you ever been told you look like someone famous, who was it? I don’t believe I have, but I’m always told that I look “familiar”. When I first moved to Michigan, I kept running into people who thought they knew me. It happened at least once a week. I kept explaining that this was impossible because I’m from Mississippi. I guess I have one of “those faces”.
