Meet BOS Co-Founder & CFO, Sun Chao
Tell us about yourself?
Outside of the BOS, I am also an organizational development consultant at Sensei Change associates. As a first-generation immigrant, I came to The US from China for my master’s degree in Human Resources Management and Organizational Development in 2010. As a proud EMU alumnus, I teach at EMU as a part-time lecturer. In addition to teaching, I am passionate about building bridges between China and The US by developing the cross-cultural school for students in both countries and recruiting international students to come to the state of Michigan.
Where do you consider your hometown? Ypsilanti is what I called a truly "second home" on the other side of the earth. When I am not glued to the computer screen, you can find me taking fierce pictures at EMU's Closeup Educational Theater Troupe's performance or volunteering at habitat for humanity and alpha houses.
I am one of the founding members of "A Toast to Ypsi" Ypsilanti downtown Toastmasters club and serve as Neighborhood Theatre Group's board member. I am a proud "big" of Big Brother Big Sister of Washtenaw County, an enthusiastic football and basketball fan, and I try really hard to not be the worst singer in the baritone section in my church choir.
What passion are you pursuing at The BOS? I recently collaborated with longtime friend, mentor and colleague Dr. Diana Wong, Dr. Wayne Mellette on The Back office Studio project. It's given me a whole new perspective of what it means to be a part of the Ypsilanti community and leading changes.
